James Douglas Parrish

James Douglas Parrish passed away peacefully in Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton, Va., on Monday, November 25, 2019. He was born on August 25, 1946 in Little Rock, Ark and was 73 years old. Mr. Parrish graduated from Arkansas Technical High School and maintained a life-long interest in electronics and mechanics. He lived in Arkansas, Florida and Georgia at various times during his life and ultimately in Virginia. He worked as a computer programmer in government and private industry throughout his career. His second love, after his family and pet cats, was motorcycles and motorcycle riding. Mr. Parrish is survived by his wife, Gretchen Larrimer, his sister, Regina V. Parrish, his niece, Brooke Parrish, and nephew, Craig Parrish. Mr. Parrish was predeceased by his father, William E. Parrish, his mother, Lorene Thornton Parrish, and his brothers, Donald Wayne Parrish and Dennis Parrish. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your local animal shelter or the ASPCA in Doug's memory. Funeral will be 10 a.m., Friday, December 6, 2019, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
