Billy H. Burkeen

Billy H. Burkeen, 90, of North Little Rock, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019. He was born on April 19, 1929 to the late Elbert and Mattie Lee Bradley Burkeen in Newbern, Tenn. Bill is also preceded in death by his brother, James J. Burkeen. Bill was an active member at Park Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and most recently a greeter. Bill and Jean have been faithful members for over 40 years. Bill retired from Tastee-Freez after 45 successful years, with the largest franchise in the nation. Bill is survived by his wife, Priscilla Jean Burkeen; daughter, Lisa Carol Fortner of Lakewood, OH; grandson, Burke Adams Fortner, currently a student at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz.; and sister-in-law Shirley Burkeen of Memphis, Tenn. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116. Burial to follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
