Mattie Gibson-Jackson was born on November 23, 1936 to the union of Booker T. Gibson and Emma Colbert in Chicago, Illinois. Since a very young age Mattie has been a strong believer in Christ and attended Antioch Church in Chicago, Illinois. She married Colistos Gene Poindexter Sr. and four children were raised and born of this union; Harold, Colisa (Angie), Colistos Jr. (Fritz) and June (Teresa). In later years she married Ronald Roudez and one more child was born, Dwayne. In her later years she found companionship with Adolph Barnes then later Tommie Jackson. Mattie cherished family, friends, church, cooking exercising and loved taking pictures. As everyone knows her favorite saying was "God is in full control" and along with saying goodbye, should would say "Don't forget to pray". Mattie moved to Arkansas May 2014 and joined Fayetteville Senior Center and attended Christian Life Cathedral where she made many friends. Monday, December 16, 2019 at The Maples at HarBer Meadows in Springdale, Mattie transitioned to her new home in heaven. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Sonny Gibson, one sister; Carol Wright, one daughter; Angie Poindexter and two grandsons, Eric Poindexter and Robert Watson. She leaves to cherish her memory, Harold Poindexter of Georgia; Fritz Poindexter and wife Karen of Michigan; June Wood and husband Joseph of Arkansas; Dwayne Roudez of Illinois; one brother, Billy Gibson of Illinois; three grandchildren, Brian, J'la and Paris; one great-grandchild, Erykah and one great great grandchild, Kehlani and a host of nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve Dixon officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Bethany Christian Services, 804 S.
