Joe Verdel Yeager, age 64, of Bentonville went to his heavenly home Tuesday, December 17, 2019. His wife of 32 years, Amelia Yeager, was by his side along with his cousin Bill Dean Graham; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike & Amanda Reynolds; his niece & nephew, Cassie & Kaleb Reynolds; and his father-in-law & wife, Don & Brenda Bradshaw. His cousin Mike Yeager (Mikey) was unable to be with him in his final hours but has been by his side this whole journey supporting him. Joe loved his family and knew they were there with him in his final hours. Joe especially loved his mother, Glenna Yeager, and was able to enjoy visiting with her in the hours before he passed. Joe was born August 6, 1955 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to James and Glenna Yeager. He worked as a ward clerk for many years at Springdale Memorial Hospital where he met his wife, Amelia, whom he married on June 6, 1987. He loved gardening especially growing his prized tomatoes and jalapeños. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, making knives, playing southern gospel music with his friends, spending time with his family, friends and his two puppies Gracie and Jesse. He was preceded in death by his father, James Yeager. He is survived by his wife, Amelia; his mother, Glenna; his sister Vicki Morris (Jim) of Little Rock, Arkansas; six nieces and nephews; and five great-nieces and nephews with one more on the way. Visitation will be Saturday from 2-3 p.m. at First Baptist Lowell. The celebration of life will begin at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family has asked that donations be made to Willard Walker Hospice of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
