Maxine Violet Kemp, age 93, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 21, 2019. She was born on July 15, 1926 in Monette, Arkansas. Maxine was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ransom "Doc" and Effie Simpson; first husband, Lloyd Smothers; daughter Bobbie Mae Smothers; second husband.,Marvin Kemp; sisters, Mildred Armstrong. Onia Boston, Vera Cates, Era Noble; brothers, Orville Simpson, Elliott "Gilley" Sims, and Freddie Simpson. Maxine is survived by a son, Jimmy Smothers of Lepanto; a daughter, Phyllis Flowers of Alexander; a stepson, Tommy Kemp of Osceola; five grandchildren, David Smothers of Lamar, Christi Kemp of Osceola, Jeff Flowers of Alexander, T.J. Kemp of Alabama, and Jennifer Flores of Alexander; 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Friday, December 27 at Pinecrest Funeral Home in Alexander. Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m.with burial at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. Pastor Max Pyron will be officiating. To sign the online guestbook go to www.pinecrestmemorialpark.com.
