James David Wilson, Jr., of Clayton, Calif., died December 17, 2019. David was born in Farmville, Va. and raised in Little Rock, Ark., by the late Dr. James David Wilson, Sr. and Blanche Colette Wilson. David graduated from Little Rock Catholic High School in 1971. He played varsity football and tennis for the Rockets. On Thanksgiving Day, 1970, Catholic High beat the state's #1 team North Little Rock Wildcats 21-16 to finish the season 10-2. David attended Arkansas State University where he became a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He joined the United States Navy in 1975 and was stationed in San Diego, Calif., from 1975-1977. He moved back to Little Rock, married a woman from California, and returned to California in 1982 to start their family. David was the friendliest, most outgoing man, always saying hello and striking up conversations with the person next to him, no matter their interest. He was a man of many passions, including the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. He loved his Southern rock music, always on and always a touch too loud. He was also passionate about labeling everything he owned. But his greatest passions in life were his family and friends. His friendships were of the utmost importance as many were from elementary and high school. He was a true fighter and inspiration for many as he battled for 15 years with Multiple Myeloma after receiving a prognosis of 3-5 years. David is survived by his four children, Nicole and her husband, Ryan Pease, Jessica Wilson, JD Wilson, and Zoe Wilson. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Morgan and Taylor Pease. Memorials may be made to the Catholic High Foundation. 6300 Father Tribou St. Little Rock, Ark., 72205.
