Donald Dale Dunham, 84, of Hot Springs Village passed away January 28, 2019. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 13, 1934 to Glendale and Myrtle (Pennington) Dunham. Following graduation from Bowling Green State University, Don served in the United States Army. He began his career in journalism, leading to a successful career as an Executive in Advertising, Marketing, and Public Relations. One of his proudest moments was being awarded Birmingham Advertising Man of the Year. In 1968, he married Sue McAteer. During their life journey, they lived in numerous states and upon retirement, settled in Hot Springs Village where he pursued his passion for golf. Don also enjoyed fishing, boating, cards, community theater and fast pitch softball. Don was a member of the Balboa Baptist Church, where he proudly served as a Deacon. He was also an active member of the "Shell Coffee Clatch,"and Hot Springs Village Shrine Club. Don was well known for his quick wit repartee. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Dale James Dunham, and a half sister, Joyce Goodall. Loving survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sue Dunham of Hot Springs Village, daughters, Pamela Hyatt and Allison Whittington both of Alabama; four grandchildren, Ramona, Robyn, Nicole, and Joshua; seven great-grandchildren; four nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 23 at Balboa Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village with Dr. Denny Wright & Rev. Kevin Bright officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Balboa Baptist PIP Building Fund, 415 Ponce de Leon Dr., Hot Springs Village, Ark. 71909 or Purplehearthomesusa.org.
