Betty Bason Gordon

Betty Bason Gordon passed peacefully from this life January 31, 2019 at the age of 94. She was born October 13, 1924 in Graham, North Carolina. After graduation from Duke University with a degree in Nursing she worked as an RN at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. She later received her Masters Degree and worked for many years as a nursing instructor. Betty retired to a full life of travel, mission trips, volunteering, singing in her church choirs, and planning adventures with her grandchildren. Betty is survived by her sister, Helen Hill, daughter Lynda Letzig (Chuck), son, Russell Gordon (Melinda), grandchildren, Jessica Berkow (Oliver),Cara Hazlewood (Michael), Will Letzig (Danielle), and great-grandchildren, Julia Burnett, Louisa Berkow, Penelope Berkow, and Harris Hazlewood. She is predeceased by her husband of 38 years Russell Grahame Gordon. All who love her will miss her sweet smile, caring heart, and unique sense of humor! The family wants to extend special thanks to her church friends at First Methodist of Garland, and Westover Hills Presbyterian of Little Rock who were such an important part of her life, and also to the staff of Briarwood Nursing and Rehab. A celebration of Betty's life will be held Friday, February 8th at 3 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home Dallas, Texas.
