Johnnie Lee Arnold

Johnnie Lee "John" Arnold, 65, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale surrounded by his loving family. A beloved father, ole', husband, son, uncle, and friend, he is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. He was born December 26, 1953 in Prairie Grove to John Calvin "Jake" and Wanda Mae (Curtis) Arnold. A Northwest Arkansas native, John was a 1972 graduate of Fayetteville High School and attended the University of Arkansas. Enjoying all things sports, he excelled in football, basketball, baseball, fast pitch softball, volleyball, golf, and pickleball. An avid Razorback fan, he frequently attended football, basketball, and baseball games. John was self-employed most of his life, owning several businesses and umpiring softball for the Springdale Youth Center before taking early retirement in 2005. He spent his short retirement enjoying the company of friends, playing pickleball and sharing his stories at the Rogers Adult Activity Center and cycling the Razorback Trail system. He is reunited in heaven with daughter Shannon Arnold; father Jake Arnold; brothers, Larry and Ronnie Arnold; grandparents Earl and Lillian Curtis, Mack and Ollie Arnold; and loyal companions, Frosty, Jake, Lady, Ewok and Chloe, who preceded him in death. He is survived by the love of his life of more than 35 years, wife Kathi; daughters, Shalane Adkinson and husband Travis of Smithville, Kentucky, Camryn Lagios and husband Jeff of Springdale; grandchildren, Jordan, Harlin, Judah, Shiloh, and Micah Adkinson; his mother, Wanda Arnold; niece, Robyn Phillips and husband Bo and their children, Anna Grace and Ty; in-laws, Jerry and Frieda Maish, Bill McLeod, Julie and Gary Dickeson; sisters-in-law, Regenia Arnold and Donnette Bush; nephews, Ryan and Dakota; faithful friends, Darrell and Brenda Jones, Rob Reed, Chuck Eldridge, Kevin and Lisa Brady, Ginger and Kevin Campbell, Elizabeth Harris, Philip Woods; RAC pickleball friends; loyal fur baby Sophie; granddogs, Vera, Nova, Smidgen; and additional cherished friends. John and the family have been blessed by the loving care provided by the staff at Highlands Oncology Group and Drs. Stephen Rosenfeld and Hollis Rogers, the Admissions, Peri-Op, Surgical and the fifth floor staff at Washington Regional Medical Center for their outstanding care, and the staff at Circle of Life Hospice for their compassionate care. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 8, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Steve Curtis. Interment will be at Prairie Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Washington Regional Foundation, Fellowship Bible Church NWA, Circle of Life Hospice, Arkansas Children's Hospital, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or any local animal shelter.
