Carl Edmond Gipson

Carl Edmond Gipson, age 85, of Morrilton, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019. He was born January 24, 1934 in Atkins, Arkansas, a son of William Calvin Gipson and Alta Bernice Faucett Gipson. He retired in 1992 as the Police Chief in Morrilton and was a member of New Life Freewill Baptist Church in Overcup. Carl was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping with his family, and was a wonderful father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Etheridge Gipson of Morrilton; children, Susan (John) Hayre of Vilonia and Robin (Michael) Gipson of Morrilton; brothers, Danny (Evelyn) Gipson of Morrilton, Jimmy Gipson of Atkins, and Bobby Gipson of Maumelle; sister, Judy (Bobby) Higgins of Atkins; grandchildren, Paula (Gary) Mainard, David (Stacy) Fuller, Jacob Hayre, and Erin Upchurch; and great-grandchildren, J.J. Hayre, Jon Mainard, Conner Hayre, Reece Upchurch, Lorelei Downey, and one on the way. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 22, at the Harris Chapel with Bro. Clayton Nichols officiating.
