Alvin M Byrd Sr.

Alvin M. Byrd Sr., 88 of Helena, Arkansas passed away February 17, 2019 in Harrison, Arkansas. Mr. Byrd was born November 10, 1930 to the late Maggie Brantley and Marvin Byrd. He is survived by one son, Alvin Byrd Jr. (Charlie) of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; two daughters, Sharon Smith (Mark) of Harrison, Arkansas and Karen Lavender Fitzhugh (Carvil) of Helena, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Drake Carnathan, Jason Carnathan, and Megan Batson; seven great-grandchildren, Hunter Carnathan, Haley Carnathan, Alex Carnathan, Nicholas Carnathan, Jaiden Carnathan, Riley Batson and Merritt Batson; three sisters, Betty Ott of Utah, Frances Batts of Searcy, Arkansas and Dorothy Folkman of Oregon; two brothers, Robert Byrd of Arkansas and Doug Byrd of Pangburn, Arkansas; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Maggie and Marvin Byrd, wife of 64 years, Wanda Byrd; one sister, Evelyn Teague and one brother, Butch Byrd. The family would like to thank all the caregivers for their love and compassion. Memorials may be made to any dementia and Alzheimer's association.
