Carlton Cornelius King Jr., passed away December 20, 2018 at home in Clinton, Arkansas. Carlton was the oldest child of Carlton Cornelius King and Carrie Mae Chambless King. He was born in Hope, Arkansas, March 3, 1947. Preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his loving wife Carrol, children, Carrie Marie King, Cameron Cornelius King (Rubi) grandchildren, Alexia Lillyann King and Aidan Cornelius King. His brothers; Ray, George and sisters Sue King Davis (John), Polly King and Ginger King. Carlton was raised in Hope, growing up in the First Baptist Church. During his junior high, high school and college years, he worked for his father at the iconic "Bobcat" Drive In. Every baby boomer growing up in Hope will remember "Looping the Cat". Eventually living in Tennessee he owned Wonderland Day Care in Franklin, Tennessee and The Interstate Shell Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. After selling his businesses, he moved his family to Arkansas. Living in Little Rock, Conway and retiring to Clinton. Carlton loved the Gulf Coast, every summer vacation was spent in Orange Beach, Alabama, Point Clear on Mobile Bay or Peridido Key. He enjoyed sitting on the beach, sipping a gin and tonic, watching his children play in the surf and sand. New Orleans was another favorite destination. Many birthdays were spent in the French Quarter enjoying great food and good music. He loved and adored his daughter. He was always smiling, while speeding around Greer's Ferry Lake, pulling Carrie and her friends on a tube -betting who would fall off first. Good times included hunting and fishing with his son. Up early sitting on a deer stand, was Carlton's idea of a great time. Carlton dearly loved his family. We have many precious memories. A Natural State Funeral Services has been entrusted with his cremation. A Memorial Service will be planned in the spring. His online guest book is available to sign at www.anaturalstatefuneralservice.com.
