William Maxwell "Max" Manes

William Maxwell "Max" Manes passed away on December 30, 2018 in hospice care in Brooksville, Florida. Max was born March 11, 1933 in Little Rock, the son of Samuel Baxter Manes and Bonnie Audrey Slaughter. He was in the Class of 1951 at Little Rock Senior High, a BA graduate at Yale University in 1955, and a Master of Divinity at the Episcopal Southwestern Seminary in 1958. In 1966, he moved to Brooksville, Fla. where he taught Mathematics at Hernando High School for over 20 years while his wife Nancy Shockey of Little Rock taught English and French. He is predeceased in death by his parents and wife Nancy (1985). He is survived by his brother, Donald S. Manes (Eleanor Massie) of Little Rock, a niece, Kay Manes (Gary) of Little Rock and a nephew, Steve Manes (Debbi) of the Pittsburgh area.
