Seth Merritt Jr.

Seth Merritt Jr., 86, of Greenbrier, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 6, 2019. He was born September 21, 1932 in Greenbrier to the late Seth D. Merritt and Venice D. (Langley) Merritt. Seth was also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Alta Mae Merritt and infant son, Lyndall Wayne. Left to cherish his memory is his children, David Merritt and Sheri Terry and husband, Stan all of Greenbrier and one grandson, Wayne Terry. Seth was a longtime member and served as a deacon of First Baptist Church in Greenbrier. He was a dairy farmer and later employed as a rural mail carrier for 34 years with the United States Postal Service. Seth was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Seth will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 8th at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Thorn Cemetery.
