Rita Virginia Myers

Rita Virginia Myers, 90, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. Rita was born on July 28, 1928 in Clifty, Arkansas to her parents, William and Ethel Cook. She was a Graduate of U of A with her Bachelor's Degree and went on to teach at Siloam Springs High School from 1950-1954. On June 20, 1954, she married the love of her life, Bill Myers. Rita was a long time member of First Christian Church in Siloam Springs. She is survived by her two sons, Ken Myers and wife, Charla and Jerry Myers and his wife, Renee both of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two grandchildren, Robbie Myers and wife, Anna and Kelsey Myers both of Siloam Springs, Ark.; step-grandchildren, Lisa Kaplan and husband Andrew, Curtis Sebren, Chase Sebren and wife Kris, and Stacie Sebren; five step-great grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Peggy Cook. Rita is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill F. Myers, and infant; son, Jimmy Ray Myers; her brother, Vance Cook; and niece, Rebecca Marie "Becky" Cook. The visitation for Rita will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Siloam Springs at 10 a.m. with Pastor Joel Rutherford officiating. Committal service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rita Myers' memory to Gum Springs Baptist Church at P.O.
