Roger Joseph St. Onge

Roger Joseph St. Onge died peacefully at home the morning of Friday, January 5, 2019. He was predeceased by his mother, Joan, his father, Lucien, and his brother, Leo. He is survived by his wife, Barbara St. Onge, son, Mark St. Onge, and daughter, Michele Langston, along with granddaughters, Lindsey, Courtney and Lauren Langston and Olivia St. Onge. Additionally, Roger has a sister-in-law, Jan and four nephews living in Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island and Hawaii. After serving in the US Army, Roger received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and accepted a position with Remington Arms in Bridgeport, Conn. Roger later moved to become plant manager at Remington Arms' Ada, Okla. facility. In 1969, Roger and his family moved to Arkansas where Roger managed the new Remington Arms location in Lonoke, Ark. In 1971, Roger made a significant career change and became the Administrator of the Little Rock Diagnostic Clinic (LRDC). During his 26 years with LRDC, the groups' internal medicine staff grew significantly, which resulted in the construction and move to a new 50,000 SF facility near Baptist Medical Center. He guided LRDC through the implementation of a new patient administration system, the creation of an employee profit sharing plan, and the addition of the LRDC Endoscopy Center. Roger also served as the President of the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, and President of the Southern Section of the Medical Group Management Association, where he earned a Fellowship as a Medical Administrator. While in Oklahoma, Roger was introduced to hunting and competitive skeet shooting. He, in turn, introduced his son to hunting, and enjoyed spending time hunting with his son and son-in-law, Lewis. Roger was an avid UConn Huskie fan, and never missed watching a women's basketball game. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Andrew's Cathedral at 617 South Louisiana Street at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 12. Following the service, friends will be greeted at the family's home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Saint Andrew's Cathedral Renovation program or Shriners Hospitals for Children. Arrangements by Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home.
