Opal Frans

Opal Frans, 98, of Yakima, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 and was welcomed home by her Lord Jesus Christ. She was born May 30, 1920 in Mountainburg, Arkansas to Nettie and James Glover, one of five children. In 1940, she met and married Fred Crawley at a bible revival. They were married 19 years, lived in Prairie Grove, Arkansas for a time then moved out to Selah, Washington. In 1961, she married Mel Frans. They were happily married for 56 years until his death in 2017. Opal worked at the Ross/Tree Top plant and retired with 33 years of service. Her church, kitchen and flower garden were her favorite places to be. She especially enjoyed the potlucks her church had. She would bake up some of her wonderful pies. In addition, when friends would drop by she would always have a pie in the oven. She is survived by her sister, Maxine Dodd of Springdale, Arkansas, her daughter, Maudileen Dunsing of Yakima; two granddaughters, Debbie Whelchel (David) of Cheney, Wash., and Kim Gonzales (Patrick) of Selah; five great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Viewing will be held at Keith & Keith Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral service will be held at Keith & Keith Funeral Home on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Private interment will be at Wenas Cemetery.
