Patricia Ann Alford Yancey, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, departed this earthly life into eternal life on Jan. 4, 2019. Patricia was born on May 4, 1936, in Memphis, Tenn., to the late Lewis Emmett Alford and Mary Lou Springfield Alford. She is preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Stewart Alford. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dan Yancey of Guy, Ark.; her brother, Michael Alford of Elk Grove, Calif.; her daughters, Dana Yancey Payne of Guy and Deborah (Bart) Pickens of Conway, Ark. She is survived by two grandchildren, also, Cheyenne Yancey Payne of Palo Alto, Calif., and Winston Lewis Payne of Santa Ana, Calif. Patricia was a life-long Christian of the Methodist faith. For many years, she has been a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Ark., where she served in numerous ministries and was deeply connected to her church family. Most recently, Patricia had been attending Greenbrier First United Methodist Church in Greenbrier, Ark. Patricia was a beautiful person who touched many lives in a positive way. She was an extraordinarily loving person that everyone who knew her would tell you. The memory of her kindness, her gentleness, and her goodness brings us such joy. We are thankful for the knowledge and assurance that she rests in the presence of God and that we were blessed beyond words with the presence of her in our lives. The family would like to express their gratitude to Arkansas Hospice for their kindness, compassion, expertise, and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia's name to Heifer International, an organization she supported. A memorial service will be held for Patricia on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary at Asbury First United Methodist Church, located at 1700 Napa Valley Drive in Little Rock, Ark.
