Aaron Olespy Smith

Aaron Olespy Smith, 90, of Jacksonville passed from this life on January 14, 2019. He was born May 26, 1928 in Hodge, Louisiana to the late Archie L. and Lillian I. Quinn Smith. Mr. Smith proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of Panola Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Langdon; siblings, Elwanda Moore and Buddy Smith. Survivors include daughter, Sherrie (Bob) Walker of Jacksonville; siblings, Doris Helms of Waynesville, North Carolina and Pat (Ken) Garvin of Louisiana. Other survivors include grandchildren, Will (Angie) Roark, Cory (Heather) Roark, Donnie (Alex) Langdon, Christy Errington, Brandi Johnson, Drew (Megan) Walker, Blake Walker; great-grandchildren Will, Josie, Cooper, Riley, Emi, Kylie, Cory, Waylon, Wyatt, Cloe and Trey; along with a host of extended family and friends. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2019 at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 p.m., to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
