Mary Lois Martin

Mary Lois Spates Martin was born in Saratoga, Ark. March 15, 1920 to Charles Cicero and Sarah Luellyn Spates. She passed away January 22, 2019 in Little Rock, Ark. After high school graduation Mary Lois moved to Little Rock where she worked as a receptionist in a dental office and several months later, she met the love of her life, Richard Elliott Martin. They married in October of 1939 and lived in North Little Rock until 1966. They had two children: Richard E Martin, Jr. and Sarah Elizabeth Martin Dellinger. Richard and Mary Lois lived in Chicago and Arlington VA prior to retiring to their "farm" in Izard County Arkansas. Mary Lois is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, her husband and daughter. She is survived by her son, Richard Elliott Martin Jr. and his wife Janet of Corsicana, Texzas; three grandsons: Rick Martin of Lampasas, Texas; Dr. Alex Dellinger of Little Rock; Mat Dellinger of Batesville and wife Ashley; granddaughter, Beth Ann Martin of Forney, Texas and six great-grandchildren. Her family and friends will remember her best for her passion of God's word and her study and adherence to Christian living. Second, her love and devotion to family and friends and third, her love of preparing food and serving family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to a charity that serves the youth of our country. Graveside services will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Saratoga Cemetery under the direction of The Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Hope.
