Eugene Russell Grainger

Eugene Russell Grainger, 63, of Bentonville passed away January 27 at Northwest Medical Center. He was born April 1, 1955 in Warrensburg, Mo. to Bob and Norma Jean Kennedy Grainger. Eugene moved to Northwest Arkansas 2 years ago from Kansas City. He was a retired Kansas City firefighter and paramedic, and later served as a training officer for the White Rock Fire Department in Jane, Mo. Eugene enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, and served as American Legion Post 77 chaplain. Eugene is survived by his wife, Donna, of Bentonville; his parents; two sons: Wade and Nathan Grainger of Kansas City, o.; two step-children: James Stokes (Mandy) of Washington DC and Ashleigh Stokes of Kansas City; one sister, Pam Tilson (Bob) of Washington DC; two grandsons: Jackson and Cole Stokes; mother-in-law, Juanita Bailey; and Donna's uncle, Doug Carr. Funeral services will be in Warrensburg, Mo. under the care of Sweeney-Phillips Funeral Home.
