Frank S Crawford

The family of Frank S. Crawford, announce his passing on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the age of 87 years. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Krista, his grandson Mason, Mason's mother Barbara, and his sister, Rosalee and her husband David Kelley; his brother George; his brother-in-law Talbert Malone and wife Patty; and his many nieces Mary, Lisa, Kelly, Cindy, Kerry, Erica, Jennifer and Brenda; nephews Joel, Dale, Bob Jr., and David; great nieces and nephews Charlie, Bethany, Tim, Brina, Ryon, Brandon, Kristen, Karlin, Patrick, Noah, Emmalee, Peyton, Stokton, Hailee, Tolkien, Matt, Shaffer, Casey, Phoenix, Haley, Kacey, Courtney, Micah, Jonathan, Steven, Cameron, A.J., Amber, Frank, and Cody; and great great nieces and nephews Walker, Oliver, Gabby, Ryland, Savanna, Asher, Cameron Jr., Maximus, Dani, McKenna, Jody and Paden. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean; son, Shane; father, Frank Sr, mother, Verniece; brothers, Joe and Stephen; and nephews Stephen Jr. and Joey. Frank was proud to have served his country as a US Navy submariner. Most of his navy stories were too colorful to share in mixed company but that never stopped him from trying. After his combined 14 years in the military he took advantage of the G.I. bill and received an Associate Degree in HVAC. He worked as a member of the maintenance team for both the Washington Regional Medical Center and the University of Arkansas. Frank took great pleasure in his rich family Scottish history, collecting reams of genealogy on the Crawford clan. Like his ship building ancestors and skilled craftsman father before him, he was a very talented carpenter and wood worker, leaving behind many family treasures hewn from NW Arkansas black walnut. He was an avid reader, often going through a book a day. He also was a devoted Jeopardy fan, scheduling his work around that hour. He was a loving, gregarious man known for giving great hugs, often ending conversations with his catch phrase, ‘come back and play with me some time'. He was ready to lend a helping hand and truly one to offer the shirt off his back, assuming he was wearing one. Per Frank's request, his cremains will be rested next to his bride, Jean, at one of his most beloved locations, the top of Mineral Springs Mountain at the community cemetery where he served his neighbors by being the grounds keeper for many years. A casual gathering of family and friends will take place at the cemetery pavilion on Wednesday, July 10 at 11 a.m. For those who can share in this time, please dress casually and comfortably as Frank always did. The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Mineral Springs Community Cemetery Fund (P.O. Box 861, West Fork, Ark. 72774) for the upkeep of this property.
