Doris Maxine Robinson, 95, of Benton, Ark., went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2019. Maxine, as she was known, was born October 27, 1923 near Paragould, Ark., to Price and Violet Nailling. She married Owen Robinson on November 23, 1940 at Paragould. Maxine and Owen had many adventures doing odd jobs trying to "make a little money," but their primary occupation was farming around Success, Ark. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, Price and Violet; her husband, Owen; a son, Owen D. Jr., a granddaughter, Ceslee Conkling, and a son-in-law Eddie Conkling. Maxine is survived by her brother, James Nailling (Carolyn); four children; Maurice Robinson (Norma); Bonnie Conkling; Doris Keisler (Ronnie); and Mickey Robinson (Karen); nine grandchildren: Renee Bethel (John), Randy Robinson (Kristin), Brian Conkling (Sheila), Brad Conkling, Rhett Keisler (Jennifer), Kerri Connellan (Peter), Ryan Keisler (Delaney), Chris Robinson, and Jonathan Robinson (Pam); twenty great-grandchildren: Hannah Johnson (Cody); Boyce Bethel, Henry Bethel, Mollie Robinson, Tiffany Robinson, Stanley Robinson, Erin Thomas (Josh), Brent Smith, Heath Conkling, Lily Keisler, Eva Keisler, Patrick Connellan, Maura Connellan, Fiona Keisler, Eleanor Keisler, Madison Robinson, Chandler Robinson, Braden Robinson, Braxton Robinson and Brooks Robinson; and three great-great-grandchildren; Everly Thomas, Molly Thomas, and Blane Smith. Maxine, Momma, Grandma or GiGi, will be remembered for "cooked down" green beans, outstanding chicken and dumplings in a "rich" chicken broth, and pickles so good that you would eat the whole jar. Her grandchildren drank pickle juice before it was popularized. She loved Payday candy bars and Coca-Cola. She was never afraid of a good gathering of people with whom to visit. She had a warm, gentle heart and the gift of hospitality flowed out of her loving soul. She seldom complained. Her words were always kind. She was an avid Arkansas Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals fan. The family wants to thank the staff at Four Seasons Assisted Living, Saline Memorial Hospital CCU and Saline Memorial Hospice for their outstanding care of our Momma, Grandma, and GiGi. The celebration service will be at First Baptist Church, Benton, Ark., on Tuesday July 23 at 11 a.m. The family will greet friends at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be at Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould, Ark., on Monday, August 5, at 10 a.m. Maxine loved flowers and listening to Pure Energy sing (the student choir of First Baptist Church, Benton). Memorial donations to Pure Energy would be appreciated.
