He is survived by his wife, Bruxie N. Myshka of Fayetteville Arkansas, one daughter, Dr. Susan J. Myshka of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and one son, Dr. James E. Myshka of Fayetteville, Arkansas and his wife Kimberly K. Myshka. They have one granddaughter, Maggie Myshka. Bob was a descendant of the Mayflower and a member of the National Mayflower Society. When you met Bob for the first time, he would say his name was a little different. He would ask if you could say SHIS KABOB, Then if you could, he would say my name is backwards, Bob Myshka. Nice to meet you. He was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Bob was in the U.S. Navy when he was stationed in Millington Tennessee outside of Memphis, where he met Bruxie Nell Cooper as a Telephone Operator. Bruxie was a Fiery Red Headed Girl from Arkansas. You could say Bob's life was never the same after meeting her. Bob married Bruxie Nell Cooper December 5 1959 In Ventura California while in the Navy. They traveled America and the World with the Navy until Bob was honorably discharged in 1969 As Lieutenant Myshka. During his Service to the Navy he was stationed in Italy for a short time, He attended the University of Purdue while in the Navy specializing in Electrical Engineering and Weapon Systems. Bob was commissioned as a Naval Officer in 1964, reaching the Rank of Lieutenant. He later worked in the Pentagon, He also instrumental in changing Navy Policy for New Equipment to be taken first to the Engineering Schools, So that the Engineer Students were able to learn on the newest equipment instead of training on outdated electronic equipment. Bob was also a talker and an excellent writer. He had a gift of explaining Engineering Principles to the Upper Brass and Officers so they could get the funding needed for projects, I Guess you could say Bob was able to Translate Engineerese to English to obtain new equipment and funding for the Navy. After serving his country in the Navy for 12 years, He moved to Wichita Kansas and was an Electric Engineer for Boeing Aircraft. He was assigned to a research team of only 6 men that were on the team that developed FLIR - Forward Looking Infrared Radar to assist pilots flying during the night and during bad weather. This FLIR saved many of our Pilots and their crew. He Trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1970, and he felt God's calling him to become a Missionary to Gallup New Mexico for the Catholic Church. He and his family served the Navaho and Hispanic communities of Gallop for 2 years. They felt a longing to go HOME to Jonesboro Arkansas to move back to Bruxie's Family, Bob moved his family on total faith and trust in God. They moved without having a job or a place to live. God had everything arranged from a House from Cleatus Butler and providing Bob a job at Monroe Shock Absorbers to help pay the bills. He heard about a job as the Executive Director of the Crowley's Ridge Girl Scout Council. He applied and was hired. He served the Northeast Arkansas Crowley's Ridge Girl Scout Council for 20 years until he retired. We are honored to have the Girl Scouts here today for the Flag Presentation. Thank you Girl Scouts for taking a chance on him. Bob feeling called to serve his Savior Jesus Christ 1970, for a few years he worked in the Ministry as Executive Director of the Catholic Evangelistic Association, Working with College Kids serving in Gallop New Mexico to the Navajo Indians. He and his wife Bruxie also served in the Kairos Prison Ministry for several Years at the Arkansas Men's Tucker Prison Facility and the Arkansas Women's McPhearson Newport Prison Facility and Locally at the Craighead County Facility. Bob and Bruxie also bought and managed the Light House Bookstore together as another Ministry to share the Gospel and provide the Tools needed for other Christians to serve. Bob was also involved with Christian Coalition a group that distributed Politicians Voter Guides out to the entire state of Arkansas before the elections.
