Alicia Copello Parodi, 85, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away July 23, 2019. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Libertario Copello and Angela Saccone, she was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hector, and her sister Marta. Alicia and Hector, her husband of 59 years with whom she immigrated to the U.S. in 1960, were partners in all aspects of their lives. Together, they raised two beautiful and successful daughters, played an instrumental role in the upbringing of their five grandchildren, and ran a successful local business, Leo's Greek Castle in Hillcrest. Abi, as her grandchildren and great-granddaughter endearingly called her, will be remembered for the selflessness she exuded every day. She served for many years as a local caregiver to numerous local children and was an exceptional cook, providing delicious homemade items, such as world famous apple pie, for her family and the restaurant, all while showering her family with unconditional love and support. Alicia is survived by her siblings, Jose Juan and Ana Maria Copello; daughters, Gracie Harrell (Gary), Melissa Hawkins (Adam); five grandchildren; Jeremy (Lindsay), Megan (Phil), Alicia (Andrew), Casey and Kirsten; and one great-grandchild, Louisa. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 2 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the COPD Foundation at https://www.copdfoundation.org/. Arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
