HENRY GRADY MILLER, JR., 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2019. He was born in Little Rock on March 6, 1929 to Emily Sturges Miller and Henry Grady Miller, Sr. He is survived by his daughters Emily Sturges Miller of Encinitas, Calif., and Mary Ann Miller of Conway, Ark. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Ann Causey Miller, his son James Robert Mayfield, and his sister Robin Miller Hartley. He had seven grandchildren. Grady, affectionately known by his childhood friends as Bro Miller, was kind and generous. He was born and raised in Little Rock, an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, and was involved in several non-profits over the course of his long life. He served in the Air Force and was stationed in Florida and Texas. His love for education ran deep, and was an alumnus of Princeton University, University of Arkansas and University of Texas, where he studied history, economics, and architecture. After finishing university, he worked as an architect, his first passion, before running the family's Southwest Land Company that include farms in Lonoke and Des Arc, Arkansas. The nephew of the honorable Senator Joe T. and Ewilda Robinson, he dutifully and lovingly cared for the Senator's legacy. Grady Miller led by example. He will be remembered for his love of God, family, country, rich memory of history, extensive generosity, sense of humor, great smile, and his loving heart. The memorial service will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church at One Covenant Drive in Little Rock on Thursday, June 6th at 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Covenant Presbyterian Church.
