Mattie Mae Pitts

MATTIE MAE PITTS, age 85, of Jacksonville passed away Friday, May 31, 2019. She was born March 5, 1934 in England, Arkansas to the late Amos and Ruby Fisher Bass. Mattie loved arts and crafts, gardening with her husband, and volunteering at the hospital. She was a strong and wonderful companion, not only to her family, but for her many friends as well. Mattie was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Donelson Flynn Pitts, Jr.; brothers, Kenneth, A.J., James, and Clyde Bass; and sister, Dorothy Coney. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Pitts; son, David (Danita) Pitts; and grandchildren, Christy Hawking and Stacy Hawking. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Brother Ben Leonard officiating. Interment will follow at Mulberry Cemetery in England.
