Louie Arvil "Sunny" Smith

On Sunday June 9, 2019 Louie A. "Sonny" Smith Jr. loving father and grandfather, at the age of 76 went to be with his savior. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie A. Smith, Ruth Browning Smith and a sister, Jo Ann Vann. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Sharon (Hockenbury) Smith, sons Todd Smith (Melissa) and Bart Smith (Andrea), grandchildren Cody and Austin of Conway, Ark. and Dean, Faith and Matthew of California. A sister Pam Holloway of Conway, Ark. numerous nieces and nephews. "Sonny" was born August 25, 1942 in Conway, Arkansas. He retired from Arkla gas company now CenterPoint Energy after 35 years of service. He was an Army Veteran and a member of the Green Grove Masonic Lodge in Conway. He was a very kind and giving man, who never met a stranger. He loved to hunt, golf with his crew at Centennial Valley and worked on numerous friend's golf carts. He will be missed by all that knew him. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12 from 6-8 p.m. at the Griffin Leggett funeral home on Dave Ward Drive in Conway, Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 13 at Pickles Gap Baptist Church beginning at 10 a.m., With Masonic burial at Pleasant Valley Cemetery to follow.
