A full and adventurous life ended Wednesday, February 27, 2019, for Dr. GEORGE F. HOLITIK, at his Little Rock home in the care of his loving wife of 29 years, Connie Russell Holitik. He is also survived by his children Chris, Drew, Kay (Maris) and Melissa (Plato); grandchildren Ashley, Whitney, Rainey, Wylie, Katherine Ann, Robert; and great-grandchildren Laura Kay and James; and his four-legged children Dewars and Sassy. He was preceded in death by sons George III and Robert Holitik. Dr. George practiced family medicine in Little Rock for 56 years and was well known, loved and respected by his patients and peers. He was instrumental in the establishment of the ER at St. Vincent's infirmary and also manned several emergency rooms in and around the Little Rock area. He was also an international travel physician and contact. One of his proudest moments was the establishment of the hyperbaric units in Little Rock. George loved the outdoors, whether it was feeding his beloved hummingbirds and squirrels, fishing, or serving as President of Ducks Unlimited Arkansas. He felt it was his duty to help preserve the earth for the next generation to enjoy. Family and friends have said that Dr. George carried on his father's tradition of welcoming anyone and everyone into his home, and everyone always felt uplifted upon leaving. There will be a private interment by family. The following is a personal quote to family and friends from George: "Multiple tales and other lies are to be related by friends over recreational beverages at Cajun's Wharf on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. (Do this on a Tuesday or Wednesday, so you don't mess people up!!)" The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Arkansas Autism, 322 Main Street, #501, Little Rock, Ark. 72201, or the charity of your choice. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., (501) 224-2000. Dr. Holitik's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
