Juanita Marlene Lusby Gaston

Mrs. JUANITA MARLENE LUSBY GASTON, age 95, of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away Friday, March 1, 2019, in Waxahachie, Texas, where she has resided since 2013. She was born May 20, 1923, in Ouachita County, in the town of Troy. A daughter of the late Charley Clyde Lusby and Eunice Brummett Lusby. Juanita was preceded in death by her brother, Ferrell Brummett Lusby; Son, Andrew Thomas Gaston III; her husband of 68 years, Andrew Thomas Gaston Jr. She was a gracious homemaker who loved family and respected people. She enjoyed cooking and baking, she was known for her pecan pie and strawberry cake. She collected pretties or antiques. She was a friend to the animals and fed them regularly. She even had a turtle that would come to eat under her carport. She and A.T. built a lake house on lake Conway, where she loved to spend many hours on the porch in the swing. She and A.T. camped on lake Ouachita with family and friends that they referred to as "fishing buddies." Juanita loved flowers. Her azaleas were beautiful and the butterflies couldn't get enough. Family was so important to her. If her family was happy, she was happy. You couldn't help but love Juanita, and she had many friends because of her sweet spirit and kindness. Juanita is survived by her brother, Connie Lusby and daughter-in-law, Sherrie Gaston; two nieces, Linda Dupasquier and Vickie Martin; two grandchildren, Gwendolyn Gaston Flair and Andrew Thomas Gaston IV; and four great-grandchildren, Robert L. Flair III, Danielle M. Flair, Andrew T. Gaston V, and Josh Gaston. She was an adopted grandmother to Gretchen McGuire and her daughter, Gracie. She also leaves many other friends who will sadly miss her beautiful spirit.
