Carl Eugene "Gene" King

Carl Eugene "Gene" King, age 92, of Fayetteville passed away Monday March 4, 2019 in Fayetteville. He was born November 10, 1926 in Elkins the son of Arch Patton and America Delilah Powell King. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Gordon King, Guy King and Dayne "Jack" King. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II on the USS Stentor. He worked for Frank Horton Engineering as a surveyor and was instrumental in bringing electricity to many rural areas in Arkansas and Missouri. He retired from Ozarks Electric after more than 30 years as a warehouse manager. He had love for gardening and flowers and always loved a good joke. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Peggy; three daughters, Elaine King of Fayetteville, Carol Craun and her husband Jerry of Lockesburg, Arkansas and Connie King James and her husband Don of Durham, Arkansas; one son, Brett King and his wife Barbara of Ingleside, Texas; five grandchildren, Chris Craun, Casey Craun, Jennifer Freeman, Lisa Millsap, Leanne King and numerous great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Thursday March 7 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Moore's Chapel. Burial will be at Kings Cemetery.
