Willie Ann Puryear

Willie Ann Puryear, 83 of Springdale passed away Monday, March 4, 2019, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born July 8, 1935 in Menard, Texas to Jim and Emma Westbrook Sutton. Willie Ann was a school teacher for Springdale Public Schools for 25 years. She was active in her church, Mount Zion Freewill Baptist Church, serving as secretary and treasurer. She was an avid reader, cross stitcher and Christmas Candy Maker. Willie Ann married her best friend and sweetheart, Lawrence Puryear on March 3, 1956, they were married 60 years when he passed April 1, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Emma V. Hollis and Iola "Happy" Kirby and one brother, Fred L. Sutton. Survivors include two daughters, D'Ann Whittle and husband Rick of Rogers and Vicki Satterfield and husband Keith of Hindsville; one brother, J.W. Sutton of Sonora, Texas; one sister, Madlyn Mason and husband C.G. of Hindsville; four grandchildren, Morgan Satterfield and fiancé Keaton Stanwick, Samuel Satterfield and Maci Harp, Chris Whittle and wife Jennifer and Josh Whittle; three great-grandchildren, Seth, Caleb and Leah Whittle. Funeral services will be Monday, March 11, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Mount Zion Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Eldon Bagwell officiating. Burial will follow in Burkshed Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Memorials may be made to Burkshed Cemetery Association or Gideons International.
