George D. Brannon, age 96, of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away March 11, 2019. He was born January 14, 1923, the son of Reuel R. and Gertrude Brannon in McLean, Texas. He moved to Oklahoma at an early age. George enlisted in military service in 1942 serving 26 years as an Air Force pilot during WWII, Korea and Vietnam wars. He married Patricia Geiger on December 5, 1945. In August of 1984 George moved to Bella Vista from Omaha, Nebraska. He was a charter member of VFW Post 9063, serving as a past Commander and was also on the Board of Directors of the Military Officers Association. He served in the Bella Vista Veterans Honor Guard until 2018. George was also a President of the 9 Hole Golf Association. George enjoyed volunteering and spent many hours at NARTI, Helping Hands, Recycle Center and Tanyard Creek Nature Trail. George is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Patricia; daughters, Carole (Bruce) Becher, Anne (Chuck) Massengale and Shirley (Scott) Minor; seven grandchildren, George, Shannon, Megan, Kris, Kirk, Aaron, and Adam; and 20 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 15th at First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, with Military honors by the U.S. Air Force with the Bella Vista Honor Guard serving as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, Ark. 72715 or Bella Vista Animal Shelter, P.O.
