Jerry B. Keyes passed away Sunday, March 10, 2018. She was born in Chicago, Ill. to Frank R. and Thelma A. Burton. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Stanley M. Keyes, son, Byron B. Burns; parents Frank R. and Thelma A. Burton, and her beloved sister-in-law, Carolyn A. Thaxton. She is survived by her special family, Ernest O. Nolan Jr., wife Pat Nolan and daughter, Amanda. Also, brother-in-law, Marvin Thaxton and his family; as well as her late husband's children, Griff Keyes (Kenan); Cloud Keyes (Nancy) and their families. Jerry grew up in Moberly, Mo. and was a graduate of Moberly Junior College Lower Division. She served as secretary for Race for the Cure for many years as well as a grant mentor for the Susan G. Komen Arkansas Affiliate. In 2015 she received the Passion of One award. She served as President of Montague Gardens P.O.A. and was a board member seven times. Jerry was a past president and a multiple term serving board member for the Cambridge Place P.O.A. She was also a sustaining member of Executive Women International; a former member of G.A.L.S. Investment Club; a member and past president of the Little Rock Ski Club; past president of the Little Rock Chapter of the United Cerebral Palsy Auxiliary; past board member of the Arkansas Repertory Theater Friends of the Rep; past president of the Arkansas State Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International; past president and former secretary of the board for the Missouri Medical Assistants Society. Jerry had previously been executive secretary to Frank Hickingbotham at TCBY; Vice President at Fausett & Company, Realtors; and secretary to former Missouri Gov. John M. Dalton. She also served as general partner of Keyes Family Limited Partnership. Jerry was a member of Saint James United Methodist Church since 1970 and taught Sunday School regularly, she was also active in her son's Boy Scout troop. She served on the board at Saint James United Methodist Church, she was a member and circle leader for the Loaves and Fishes United Methodist Women, she served on the board of the UMW at Saint James and was the Saint James Chair during the UMW Arkansas State Conference in 2012. She was awarded a Life Membership in UMW. She participated in the Vine and Branches Bible Study group; and was a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Jerry was a staff member for four years at Saint James United Methodist Church following her retirement from TCBY. She also mentored at Fullbright Elementary school and supported and volunteered for many charitable organizations. Memorials may be made to Saint James United Methodist Church (321 Pleasant Valley Dr., Little Rock, Ark. 72212). A funeral service will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home (6313 W. Markham St., Little Rock, Ark. 72205) on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1 p.m.. A visitation preceding the service will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home from noon to 1pm, a burial at Oakland Cemetery will immediately follow the funeral service.
