Frances Dockery, age 89, of Fayetteville passed away March 14, 2019. She was born November 16, 1929, in Fayetteville to Cloe "Tobb" and Jewell Jordan Drain. She is a member of Mount Comfort Church of Christ in Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Wayne; and her sons-in-law, Steve Glover and Jack Horton. She is survived by her husband of 70 years (November 20, 2018), John Dockery; one daughter, Janice Glover Horton of Gosnell, Ark.; David Dockery and his wife Nena of Springfield, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Roberta Dockery of Denton, Texas; four grandchildren, David Wayne Dockery and his wife Angela, Angela Broadnax and her husband Jeremy, Michael Dockery and his wife Mara, Joshua Dockery; seven great-grandchildren, Alder Dockery, Orion Dockery, Branden Broadnax, Juliana Broadnax, Alexander Lassiter, Jeramiah Payan-Lopez, Lindsey Payan-Lopez; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Reed and Aubree Reed. She attended Midland School, Jefferson Elementary and was a Fayetteville High School 1947 graduate. She was, by trade, in her words, "a domestic engineer." Her hobbies included "decking her deck out" with beautiful flowers, cooking, sewing, crocheting, creating, working on genealogy and "get togethers." She was a daily Bible reader, and she loved to serve others in any way that she could right up until the end. We all were influenced and encouraged by her Christian walk and one could not have asked for a better mother, grandmother and mentor on earth. Visitation will be 5 p.m.–7 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019, at Moore's Chapel Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Mount Comfort Church of Christ (formerly, the Dockery Farm) with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
