Josephene Tomlinson, age 82, passed away in Prairie Grove surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 17, 2019. She was born on October 21, 1936 at Sunset (Winslow, Ark.) to Claud and Lillie (Parker) Meadors. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Omar Tomlinson and James Piatt, three brothers, and four sisters. Josephene was a longtime resident of Winslow and the youngest of 10 siblings. She enjoyed crafting, fishing, gardening and country music, but most of all her great-grandson, Brooks. Josephene retired from the University of Arkansas and then again from the Washington County Courthouse. She is survived by her daughter, Anita and husband Carl Sweigart of Prairie Grove; grandchildren, Ashley and David Taylor of Prairie Grove, Hayley and Wes Long of Farmington, one great-grandson, Brooks Taylor; nephew, Johnny Schader and Michelle Webb of Brannan; and two sisters, Geneva and Arliss Perry of Fayetteville and Indinola and Charles Williams of Fayetteville. Graveside Service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday March 20, 2019 at the Brentwood Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
