David Phillip Dearman, age 66, and lifetime area resident, died Sunday, March 24, 2019. He was born October 7, 1952 in Springdale to Kenneth and Opal Louise (Ford) Dearman. David, even as a child, dreamed of becoming a police officer. He worked his way through the ranks of the Rogers Police Department from 1974-1997 retiring as a corporal. To stay active he then served as a sergeant with Benton County Sheriff's Department's deputy reserves. In his earlier life he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Above all, David loved being "G-Pa" to his granddaughter, Olivia. As David's health declined, and especially following the death of his wife, Brenda, in 2017, he longed to "go Home" to be reunited with her and his Savior. He is survived by one daughter, Kacee Scott and husband Jason, and their daughter, Olivia, of Springdale. Besides his wife and parents, David is also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Dearman, and step-father, Stillman Garvin. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by a funeral at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be at Silent Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 3074 S. 48th Street, Springdale, Ark. 72762, or First Responders Children's Foundation, 38 E 32nd Street, Suite 602, New York, N.Y. 10016, or visit nleafcf.org.
