Wanda E. Williams

Wanda Elizabeth (Smith) Williams, age 96, of Donaldson, passed from this earth on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. She was born July 19, 1922, in Donaldson, the daughter of Charles and Mamie (Railey) Smith. She was married to Eugene Williams on January 6, 1946. In addition to being a homemaker for many years, she worked at Northrop Aircraft in California during World War II, Featherlite Manufacturing in Hot Springs, and the Malvern Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Ouachita Missionary Baptist Church and previous member of Meadow View Missionary Baptist Church. Wanda enjoyed spending time with family, scrapbooking, singing, watching birds, and baking – known especially for her coconut cake. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, James Smith, Fred Smith, and Charles "Cotton" Smith; and sister, Mildred Stitz. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Gary Williams (Phyllis) of Lafayette, Ind.; daughters, Lorraine Carroll (Bob) of Coppell, Texas, and Lisa Lake (Mike) of Bryant; grandchildren, Hollie Kessler (Eric), Andrew Williams (Amy), Hunter Lake (Katie), Trent Lake, Christine Carroll and Rebecca Carroll; great-grandchildren, Grace and Caroline Kessler, Lucas, Owen, Josie, and Jackson Williams, and Lillian Lake. Visitation will be Saturday, May 4, from 5-7 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern. Funeral Service will be Sunday, May 5, at 2:30 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home with Brother Rickey Poynor and Brother John Owen officiating. Pallbearers are Andrew Williams, Hunter Lake, Charles Stitz, Jim Stitz, Wayne Smith, and Jeff Rooker. Honorary pallbearers are David Smith and Clifton Burroughs. Interment will be at Ouachita Cemetery. The family would like to express thanks to the wonderful nursing staff at Saline Memorial Hospice House, Bryant, for their loving care and support and to the staff at Fox Ridge Assisted Living, Bryant.
