Jerry Ann McDowell

Jerry Ann McDowell of rural Watts Oklahoma went to be with her Lord on April 28th, 2019. Jerry was born in Parsons, Kan., on June 26th, 1941, to George and Thelma Maedene Mozingo. She attended Labette County High School, was a cheerleader and member of the orchestra. Upon graduation she attended what is now Pittsburg State University cosmotology school. Jerry operated her own beauty salon in Arma, Kan., after graduation. She and Don McDowell were married on May 1st, 1966, and moved to Girard, Kan., where Don was a barber. They moved their growing family to a dairy farm near Oswego, Kan., until relocating to another farm east of Altamont, Kan. In December of 1978, they moved to Siloam Springs, Ark. They owned and operated Sugar & Spice donuts for several years. After selling the donut shop Jerry and Don both worked for Franklin Electric company in Siloam Springs until they retired. This began their many years of traveling in their various Air Stream trailers. Jerry loved her family dearly and is survived by her husband Don, of the home and five children. Four sons, Greg, Jay, Adam and wife Cheryl, Todd McDowell, and daughter Amy Brown and husband Cliff. Eleven grandchildren, Meghan, Mikel, Colby, Shanna, Chase, Les, Samantha, Ashley, Rachel, Ryan and Hope. Ten great-grandchildren. Sister, Vernis Flottman. Jerry was an active member of Gum Springs Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, Ark. She enjoyed singing in the choir and the many fellowship activities. A memorial service for this wonderful lady will be on May 18th at 12 noon at Gum Springs Baptist Church.
