Mary Lousie "Dolly" Sokora

Mary Louise "Dolly" Sokora, 86, widow of Joseph N. "Buster" Sokora, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Sunrise at Hillcrest in Dallas, Texas. Dolly was born Aug. 11, 1932, in Slovak to Stanley and Cecelia Saranie. She was a homemaker and member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Saranie; and infant sister, Margaret Saranie. Survivors are her children, John Sokora of St. Louis, Mo.; Sheila (Nunzio) DeSantis of Dallas, Texas; Rick (Maureen) Sokora, of Düsseldorf, Germany; Susan (David) Hume of Cary, N.C., and Alaina (Greg) Switzer of Spring Hill, Tenn.; one brother, Raymond (Marilyn) Saranie of Stuttgart; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services, officiated by Father Shaun Wesley, are Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church with burial following in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday with Rosary being said at 6:30 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home, Stuttgart. www.turpin-co.com.
