Earlene (Hargrave) Hemmer, age 90, of Rogers, Ark., passed away peacefully Friday, May 17, 2019 at Bradford House in Bentonville, Ark. She was born on June 29, 1928, in Benton, Missouri, to the late Loren and Imogene Faye (DuVall) Hargrave. She grew up in the Poplar Bluff, Missouri area and graduated from Neelyville High School in 1947. On November 8, 1957 she married the love of her life "my Robert" Robert (Bob) D. Hemmer. The next 60 years were spent together gardening, fishing for trout or crappie, crafting, playing games with family and friends, or working at Lake of the Ozarks Assembly of God Youth Camp. Earlene was a loyal St. Louis Cardinal fan whether listening on the radio, watching on TV or attending the games at Busch Stadium. She found great joy in cooking and hostessing home dinners for family, church family and friends. She belonged to Garden Club and Order of the Eastern Star. Earlene was a faithful member for many years of Berea Temple and Trinity Tabernacle (Bridgeway Church) Assembly of God churches in St. Louis and Bridgeton, Mo. She was a children's Sunday School and Bible School teacher. Earlene retired in 1988 from McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) after 25 years as a telephone operator. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, twin brother Earl Hargrave, brother William (Buddie) Hargrave, sisters Margie Hargrave and Frances Ann Parker. Earlene is survived by her sister, Imogene Nelson of Lincoln, Mo.; brother, Russ Hargrave and wife Debbie of Rogers; sister-in-law, Linore Hargrave of Festus, Mo.; sister-in-law, Dahris Huskey of Olathe KS and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20 at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, 1401 W Hudson Rd, Rogers, AR. Graveside service and burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3556 S Westwood Blvd, Poplar Bluff, Mo. Earlene's family would like to give a special thanks to all the CNA's, Nurses and Staff of Bradford House and Hospice of North Arkansas for their excellent and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or charity of donor's choice.
