John "Bunny" Capel

John Bunyan "Bunny" Capel, age 79, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019. Born October 24, 1939 at Pine Bluff, he was a son of the late Homer Bunyan "Doc" Capel and Addie Beth Benson Capel. He was a 1957 graduate of Pine Bluff High School. Bunny worked as a florist for 25 years, first at Steffey's and then in his own shop, Bunny, Inc. He later formed a partnership with his brother in the commercial building business, Capel Construction. He was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Janice Mustachia "Jan" Capel, whom he married on August 26, 1978; two sons, Kip Capel (Jackie) and Scott Capel (Maggie); a daughter, Elisha Downing (Robby); a brother, Herkey Capel (Judy); seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Bunny's service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019, 10 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Chapel with Brother David Leopard officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
