Roger Lee Dobbins, 66, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2019, at his home in Bryant. He was born on January 16, 1953. He is survived by his mother, Sue Dobbins, and his brother and sister-in-law, Lex and Fay Dobbins, of Bryant. His is also survived by two granddaughters and their husbands, Kristina and John Long of Ward, and Victoria and Jesse Wallace of Benton and great-grandchild, Abigail Rose Stevens of Ward. He is also survived by his aunt, Mary Cooper, of Little Rock, as well as many Dobbins and Lucas cousins. Preceding him in death were his father, Johnnie Dobbins, and his son, Jerry Dobbins. Roger grew up in Bryant when it was a small town in the 1950s and 60s and he and his friends traveled Saline County as far as their bicycles would take them. He took his carefree spirit into adulthood and lived life on his own terms. He made friends easily and maintained many of those friendships throughout his life. If wealth were measured by friendship, Roger would have been a rich man. Roger had at least nine lives and, with the help of an ever-challenged guardian angel, made the most of them. He had several close calls, some self-imposed and some that just came his way, but he miraculously survived them without serious consequence. The stories that made up Roger's life provide us with many memories of the unique person we loved and will miss, especially for the color he added to our lives. The family would like to extend special thanks to Roger's friends, Marsha Singleton, Paul Robinson and David Johnson for caring for him during his last months. We also appreciate Saline Memorial Hospice for their excellent care. We invite family and friends to join us at the home of Lex and Fay Dobbins in Bryant, on Sunday, November 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. to celebrate and remember Roger's life.
