Rickey Charles Smith

Rickey Charles Smith, 69, of Lavaca, Ark. passed away November 11, 2019. He was born July 16, 1950 in Manila, Ark., to the late Buster Brown and Edith Gracie (Sivage) Smith. He served in the US Marine Corps where he was a Purple Heart recipient for Vietnam War Service. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Hargess, Myrtle Warner and four brothers, Leo Smith, Leon Smith, Norman Smith, and Richard Smith. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Joann (Dotson) Smith; three children, John Dee Smith of Fort Smith, Ark., Eric Lee Smith of Chandler, Okla., and Cheryl Ann Moore; one sister, Mary Fern Whitaker of Cave City, Ark.; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will held 11 a.m. Friday, November 15, at Smith Mortuary Chapel, in Charleston with burial to follow 1PM at the US National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under direction of Smith Mortuary.  Visitation will be held Thursday, November 14, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Smith Mortuary, Charleston.
