Bryce Aarel Verser, 92, of Conway, Ark., passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019. He was born in Miller, Ark. on August 10, 1927, to William Earnest and Blanch Verser. Bryce was a former member and past president of Heber Springs Lions Club and the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. He also was a former member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) and past president of Chapter #1156. He began his postal career as postmaster at Miller, Ark. and retired as postmaster in Heber Springs. He was a longtime member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Heber Springs. Bryce was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Wendal Verser, Della Mae Verser, Wayne Verser, Edna Myrle Harmon, and an infant grandson. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mary Lou; son, Phil Verser (Vicki) of Ashdown, Ark.; daughter Marsha (Gary) Wallace of Greenbrier, Ark.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters Freeda Cothren and Norma Lynn Bailey. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, at Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 N Fourth Street, Heber Springs, Ark. 72543.
