James Benjamin Plunkett

On October 24, 2019 James Benjamin Plunkett (64), loving father and husband, passed away. Born December 26, 1955 in Little Rock, Ark. to Rev. Phillip Riley and Katherine (Harris) Plunkett, Jim graduated from Hazen (1974) and Memphis Southern College of Technology (AD, 1992). He married Catherine Ollar and had one daughter, Jessica Erin. Preceded in death by his mother Katherine and sister Jane Plunkett, followed by his father Phillip. Survived by his wife Catherine, daughter, Erin Plunkett, grandson, Benjamin, sister, Martha (David) Shinley, foster brother, Rev. Jim Benbrook, stepmother JoAnn Plunkett, niece Kate (Matt) Criswell, a great-niece, and goddaughters, Eileen Davis and Nancy Buck. Jim had a strong interest in theology, history, literature, music, and national/world politics, with a passion for civil rights and global issues. He will be remembered as an intelligent, thoughtful, gentle, and loving man who loved and cared for people and animals. A Memorial Service and Reception is scheduled for December 7 at 2pm at Camp Mitchell, Petit Jean Mountain, Ark.
