Olen Ray West

Olen Ray West, 87, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away September 30, 2019. He was born on May 6, 1932 in Walnut Grove, Arkansas to the late William and Grace West. He was a deacon of the Baptist faith and served in the United States Army. Employment included Rock Island Railroad nearly 30 years, Counseling Clinic, and volunteering at CADC, where he filed free taxes. He is survived by his wife, Helen Vaughn West; children, B.J. Sorrels (Ken), Nancy Lavender (Mike), Sandra Graber (Alden); nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, and daughter, Carolyn Jean Burke. Memorials may be made to Saline County Humane Society, P.O. Box 305, Benton, Arkansas, 72018. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2019, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 North Market Street.
