Mary J. "Judy" Pflughaupt, age 77, went to be with her Lord on October 3, 2019. She was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi to the late Charles and Polly Gillock. A graduate of Mississippi State College for Women, Judy had a career in teaching and retired from the Little Rock School District. She enjoyed travel, reading, and serving her Lord.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gary; son, Steven Pflughaupt, of Centerton, Arkansas; daughter, Jill Hillyard, of Sherwood, Arkansas; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Judy is also survived by her sister, Sarah Murphee, of Starksville, Mississippi, and her brother, Charles Gillock, of Memphis, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Martha "Sue" Wells.
Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m., Monday, October 7 at Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church (9008 Hwy 107) with a funeral service to immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be 12:00 p.m. at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery.
