Eugene Rhodes

Eugene Rhodes, 96 of Fordyce, died Saturday, October 19, 2019. He was born March 16, 1923 in Kingsland, Arkansas to the late Charlie and Nany Bell Rhodes. He was also preceded in death by his sister Mary Hoy and four brothers: Charles, Virgil, Noah, and Billy Rhodes. Eugene was a loving husband, father, and son. He was a Christian and a member of the Methodist Church. He was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Air Force as an aerial engineer aboard B26 Marauders. He was also a mechanic and from his youth he had a real love for automobiles. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, May Dean Puterbaugh Rhodes of Fordyce, his son, Dusty Rhodes of Fordyce, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kingsland Cemetery with Rev. Phil Smith officiating. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
