Derrick D. Goodman

Minister Derrick Dewayne Goodman, Sr. 62, of Little Rock, passed away Saturday, August 24th. He was born to the late Rev. Glen Goodman and Mother Celestial West on April 21, 1957, Little Rock, Ark. His love for cars inspired him to become a successful entrepreneur in automobile restoration. Derrick married the love of his life, Margie Ann Washington on February 1st, 1984, in Oakland, California. God blessed Derrick and Margie with 35 wonderful years of marriage. To this union, no biological children were born, but Margie was a Mother to Derrick's children and raised them as her own. Minister Derrick Goodman truly loved family and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his father; Rev. Glen Goodman; two brothers, Richard L. Goodman and Rev. Cedric Goodman; sister, Deborah Goodman. Derrick leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Margie Goodman; mother, Celestial West, one daughter, Shawana Goodman; four sons, Derrick Goodman, Jr., Everett Foreman, Danny Johnson and Bryant Goodman; brothers, Lawrence Hasan, Darryl Goodman, Glen and Eric Goodman; sisters, Glenna Hamilton, Cheryl Moody, Karen West, Regina Gooden and Monique (Freddie) Lopez. He leaves five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two aunts, M. Juanita Tate and Othella Goodman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was the epitome of the name "Good Man" and Minister Derrick Goodman! Service for Mr. Goodman will be Saturday, September 7th at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 901 Calhoun St., LR.
